First Trimester Must Haves...

Now that I am officially out of my first trimester I thought I would share some of the things that I used and helped me during those first 12 weeks. I am not going to lie, the first trimester is a hard one. Your body is going throw a lot of changes. You are overwhelmingly tired, you are sick (ALL THE TIME) and your body is growing. This is a list of some of the things that helped me during this time.

1) Olly Prenatal Gummies: I found these and I really like them. I wanted to stick with a gummy because they are easier for me to take. Normal prenatal pills are rather large and I have a hard time take and keeping them down. I also take them at night right before I go to sleep so that I am less likely to get sick.

2) Water Tumbler: Its important to make sure that you drink a lot of water went you are pregnant so I love having tumblers with straws. I have several that I love. I always have a lot of ice in them and one that I'm drinking and one sitting in the refrigerator on stand by. I am also a huge fan of crushed ice and will (no joke) go to sonic and order a large cups of ice and add it in my cups all day. Yep, I'm that person.

3) Preggie Pop Drops: These are a big help to me when I have a ton of stuff to get done or places to go. I keep some in my car, my kitchen, my nightstand...everywhere. They truly do help when you feel sick. I also like spearmint gum for sickness. I don't like chewing gum in general but it does help.

4) Protein Snack Packs: My doctor wanted me to make sure that I was getting enough protein during these weeks and its important to have more small meals then 3 large meals. These packs are nice to have to grab. It helps on the days that are full of morning sickness and you don't want to do much.

5) Bath Stuffs: With pregnancy comes aches and pains. A bath is always a good way to help with that. My amazing husband got me a ton bath salts, bath frizzer and bubble bath when we found out about the baby and I have used them a LOT. It's important to take that time to try to relax when you can.

6) Bio Oil: Even if your body isn't showing yet it is important to start using "stretch mark" oils early. This is to get your skin ready. It does help with marks and with the itching that comes with stretching skin.

7) Maternity Leggings: Evening if you can't show off the bump yet its nice to have a comfy pair of leggings that are not super tight on the tummy. I happen to be showing a lot faster this time because I lost our son, Perry, at 13 weeks and then was able to get pregnant again a month after that lost. I am so thankful that I was able to do that, However, my body is probably screaming "What is going on here!!" because of everything that is it has had to deal with in the past several months. I have already moved over to all maternity pants and I'm not ashamed of it. I am doing what my body needs and there is nothing wrong with that. There is no rule that will tell you when you are supposed to move into maternity wear. Some women make that move in the first 10 to 12 weeks and others don't move into it until much later. There is not right or wrong.

8) Vitamin D: When I had all of my blood work does this time around we found out that my body was lacking in vitamin D. This is something that is pretty common for a lot of people so I was told by my doctor to start taking a supplement to help with it on top of my prenatal vitamin. I got the same brand as my prenatal and I take it at the same time. I feel that it has helped me during that last few weeks.
